Grays do pony club proud
PONY CLUB: During the Easter school holidays, two Cannonvalley riders travelled to Gatton for the Jump Equitation and Show Jumping Championships.
Both Amy and Lochlan Gray rode exceptional rounds with high placings during the four days.
Lochlan picked up a fourth in the first round of equitation in his group, also placing third in the grand prix of the show jumping phase to place him 10th overall.
Amy placed fifth in her first round of equitation in her group, going on to receive second in the power and speed of the show jumping phase to finish ninth overall.
These are awesome results from the young Cannonvalley riders.
On April 10, Cannonvalley riders were invited out to Collinsville Pony Club to be put through the paces of the cross country course.
Millie and Ruby Cran, Izzy Inglis, Georgina, Abby and Charlie Lee, Brooke and Tori Mansfield, Bonnie Connell, Merle Neisler and Wendy Hiscoe all travelled out to the training day.
Cannonvalley were thankful to Collinsville for the invitation to practise on the course, as many CVPC riders are looking to qualify for the one-day eventing state championships in July, with qualifying competitions being held at Yeppoon and Collinsville.
On the weekend, Cannonvalley held a coursebuilding and show jump judging school with seven participants.
Rob McLachlan travelled down from Charters Towers to conducted the two-day course, going through coursebuilding on Saturday and show jump judging on Sunday.
Brooke Mansfield, Sammi Warren and Linda Noble all sat for their probationary tickets for gymkhana level and all were rewarded with probationary gymkhana levels.
