Greg’s smile will live on

GREG Barrile was known for his smile and his laughter.

And this is how he will always be remembered by the family and friends he has left behind.

The 42-year-old father was tragically killed in a car crash in Cannonvale on Sunday night, leaving his closest relatives, friends and the wider Whitsunday community in shock. Greg was born in Melbourne but spent most of his adult life in the Whitsundays.

Here he was well known to many people for the passion he showed towards his many, varied pursuits, his work in the marine industry, or simply as a "great mate".

"He was just loveable - always smiling and happy - a lovely bubbly person," said his father Frank.

Greg leaves behind immediate family members Frank, Sandy, Grace (15), Ava (12) and Simone Barrile and Lynne Jaster.

He will also be sorely missed by his many friends, the community and the boating industry far beyond.

Arrangements are being made for a memorial service to be held at Cannonvale's VMR club next week, possibly on Tuesday.
