Greta wins Junior MasterChef

IT may not have been two Queensland winners in a row but Western Australia's Greta made sure two girls had taken out the Junior MasterChef trophy.

"I feel, like, amazing. I told myself don't get your hopes up, but here I am," Greta said after her win.

"This has been the most amazing experience of my life. I want to continue with food and show the world how much I love it."

The 11-year-old won the $15,000 grand prize after conquering renowned chef Tetsuya Wakuda's complicated spanner crab dish in a pressure test.

"It's not an easy dish and both did such a good job, but Greta's dish was perfectly balanced with plenty of flavour," Tetsuya said.

"I hope to see her working in a fine dining kitchen one day."

Greta follows in the footsteps of series one winner Isabella Bliss from Brisbane.

Her citrus tart with tropical mousse also impressed last night's other big-name guest, Donna Hay, in a dessert invention test.

After the two challenges worth a possible 50 points each, Greta had 92 points and Jack had 84.

Jack said he was proud to win the $10,000 second prize.

"So many kids applied to be part of this show, and I came second," he said.

"I have loved every minute of it, but the most important thing I leave with, are great memories and plenty of new friends."
