Gun-wielding armed robber holds up popular beachside store
POLICE have revealed details of how an armed robber threatened a convenience store worker with a gun before stashing cash in a "bum bag" before fleeing.
Queensland Police Service have released photos of the suspect, aged in his mid 20s to mid 30s, who produced a firearm at the store, pointed it at the store attendant and demanded money.
The 27-year-old employee compiled a sum of cash which the offender stashed in a bum bag before running off just after 6am.
The suspect captured on CCTV is described as Caucasian with a round face and short dark hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie with white writing on the front, dark knee-length pants and dark gloves with possible sandals on his feet.

A CONVENIENCE store employee has been left "shaken" after a hooded man entered a popular Mooloolaba shop with a gun and demanded money early this morning.
Just after 6am, a man in a hoodie entered a 7/11 at Mooloolaba armed with a "type of pistol", threatened a worker and demanded cash.
Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said the sole-employee at the store on the south-end of the Esplanade obliged and handed over money in the chilling incident.
Detective Senior Sergeant Edwards said the suspect fled on foot before police were called.
Police were in the process of interviewing the victim who Snr Sgt Edwards said was "pretty shaken up".
He said CCTV footage would be scoured for any leads and he urged anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact PoliceLink on 131 444.
