Gymkhana day a hit for pony club

PONY CLUB: The Cannon Valley Pony Club had a huge day of competition toward the end of last month.

The club hosted a gymkhana and fun day with 21 riders in the saddle.

Some made the trip all the way from Bowen to take part in the weekend of equestrian skills.

Courtney Kirkman of the Cannon Valley Pony Club was impressed by all riders.

"It was great to see not only the kids out there giving it their all, but the parents bringing their horses along and getting into the pony club spirit,” she said.

"We are looking forward to hosting our next comp which will be the Zone 22 dressage and combined training on the 1st and 2nd of April.

"We encourage members of the community to pop down and check out the amazing job the kids do with their horses and of course to sample the awesome food and coffee we have in the canteen.

"Thanks again to all the helpers from the weekend. We couldn't do these events without you.”

The Cannon Valley Pony Club is located on Turner Road, Riordanvale and can be contacted through Facebook.
