EQUESTRIAN
THE Cannon-Valley Pony Club recently held their annual gymkhana and the Wangaratta Zone 22 Gymkhana.
Riders came from Euri Creek, Pioneer River Valley, Bowen, Collinsville and Proserpine to compete against the Cannon-Valley Pony Club and all riders put in great efforts during the annual event.
The gymkhana began on Saturday, August 12 with a march past that was won by Bowen, ahead of Cannon-Valley in second-place and Collinsville in third.
Then it was on with the rider and hack classes, jumping and sporting.
Three placings were awarded to the winners and their points were then added together for a trophy for their age group as well as over-all high point champions. Competition on Sunday again saw an early start at 9am start with 44 riders taking part from six different clubs.
Club president Kevin Krog congratulated all riders and thanked the judges, timekeepers, pencillers and canteen staff on a job well done.
