The fact your boss should know about you but doesn't...

NEARLY half of the Australian workforce will likely be looking for a new job in the next year, a report has said.

The study - Snapshot of Australian Workplaces - released Wednesday said job satisfaction, the impact of technology, performance levels and health and life challenges were the key challenges in Australian workplaces.

The report said 44% of Australian workers were extremely or very satisfied with their current job.

About a third of workers felt poor leadership was the most stressful part of their employment.

About 72% of those surveyed said they were searching for purpose and meaning through their work.

Reventure commissioned the study and the main researcher, Lindsay McMillan, said "a future that works" campaign was launched after the study to encourage employers to renew their workplaces.

He said increasing healthiness in workplaces generated higher productivity and economic benefits.
