Have an Oktoberfest feast

DENMAN Cellars continues to offer an Australian- themed Oktoberfest by the beautiful Port of Airlie Marina.

Owner of the business, Jacqueline McLeod said celebrations have been running all week and will wrap up this Saturday with live music, a competition for best traditional German dress and games for the kids.

The winner of the best dressed competition will take home a section of German delights.

There is 22 different German beers in bottles with two different rotating German beers on tap.

On the food menu will be beer-basted pretzels from My Rainbow Bakery at Shingley Beach, German inspired sausage platters and share plates, bratwurst, pork schnitzel and potato salad.

The Oktoberfest in Airlie Beach is run in conjunction with Oktoberfest on the other side of the work in Bavarian region of southern Germany.

Germans are the second biggest consumer of beer behind the Czech Republic and in 2013 at Oktoberfest in Munich 7.7 million litres of beer was served.

Denman Cellars is unlikely to beat that, but they will offer a friendly, laid-back vibe set against the magic Port of Airlie Marina with live music on September 25-30.
