Dramatic rescue from cliff fall at Mt Wooroolin
SATURDAY, 7.30AM: A 65-year-old woman was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition after she fell from a horse and tumbled 20m at Mt Wooroolin.
A LifeFlight spokesperson said the woman was riding a horse with her husband when she fell off the horse and down a steep slope on Friday afternoon.
The horse also fell down the cliff and briefly landed on the woman.
The Kingaroy Fire Department, Kingaroy Police and Kingaroy Swift Rescue team rescued the woman from the fall before LifeFlight crews arrived on the scene.
Kingaroy Ambulance Service treated the woman for a fractured arm and possible fractured pelvis.
The horse was rescued and believed to be uninjured.
FRIDAY, 3.30PM: A LIFEFLIGHT helicopter has arrived in the picnic area of Mt Wooroolin to airlift a woman from the scene of horse riding accident.
EALIER: A HELICOPTER is heading to the scene of a horse riding accident on Mt Wooroolin.
Paramedics are assessing a woman in her 60s after the incident on Mt Wooroolin Rd, Kingaroy.
The woman and a man were riding up the BMX trails at Mt Wooroolin when the woman's horse has reared up and fell on her.
