Highway reopened following serious accident
UPDATE 10AM: POLICE have advised the Cunningham Hwy is open in both directions following an earlier crash at Amberley.
A truck and car collided at the intersection of Southern Amberley Rd about 5.45am, injuring five people, including one with a badly broken leg.
Two patients have been taken to Ipswich Hospital and three to the PA Hospital - all with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Brisbane-bound lanes of the highway were blocked for several hours while emergency crews worked to assist the injured and clean up the scene.
EARLIER: MOTORISTS are advised to seek an alternative route after a truck and car crash on the Cunningham Highway this morning.
The collision is affecting the Brisbane-bound lanes of the highway near Willowbank and drivers should expect delays.
Paramedics are currently treating five patients - four with minor injuries and one with a possible fractured leg.
Police estimate the highway will be closed for the next hours.
