Hill and Herweg win aggregate stableford

WHITSUNDAY GOLF: Mal Hill and Wilf Herweg teamed up to win the Whitsunday Golf Club's single stableford aggregate on Sunday.

The duo carded 78 points to finish clear of Ian Giles and David Hoy (69), Ross Richards and Brad Hammond (68) and 20 other competitors.

Kym Hill had the longest drive in A-grade while Reg Kercher (B-grade), Jacqui Wall, Penny Wardroper (A-grade ladies) and Lorry Thynne each claimed a prize in their respective divisions.

Nearest-the-pins were won by Ross Richards and Brad Hammond (no. 2 and 13) and Rod Wecker and Leanne Abernethy (9 and 16).

This week the Whitsunday Golf Club will contest the Airlie Panel and Paint Monthly Medal - an 18-hole stroke competition.
