Hip hop prince in town

MAGNUMS Hotel has done it again, with Australian hip hop legend Drapht set to take the stage this month.

To celebrate the release of his first new album in five years, Seven Mirrors, Drapht will be bringing his skills to the Whitsundays with his live show.

Ever since Jimmy Recard hit the top 10 in the 2008 Triple J Hottest 100, it's been as though everything Drapht touched turned to gold and he's even managed to improve since.

The artist has previously released four albums with his 2011 effort, The Life of Riley, hitting number one on the ARIA Charts and spawning the two-time Platinum single "Rapunzel".

Along with the likes of Hilltop Hoods and Bliss n Eso, Drapht has been one of the mainstays of Australian hip hop over the last decade and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Although he's been quiet with releasing new music over the last five years, it hasn't stopped him from touring the world and developing his energetic live shows.

Magnums have warned that tickets are selling fast and anyone wanting one should buy it as soon as possible.

"This is going to go off, so make sure you don't miss out on seeing this guy live," a Magnums spokesperson said.

We couldn't agree more.
