Hippo Hippo gets kids joining in
LITERALLY hundreds of kids from all over the Whitsundays got a dose of laughs in Proserpine on Friday.
Hippo Hippo is a new musical adventure for children and families, based on the international best-selling book series There's a Hippopotamus on our Roof Eating Cake.
More than 400 children came from the Whitsunday Christian College, St Catherine's Catholic College and Merinda State School in Bowen. Teacher aide Tina Nisbet, from Merinda State School, said the kids loved the live show and it was a real treat, as not many shows stopped in Bowen.
"They were dancing and grooving and joining in and enjoyed the interaction of the show," she said.
Elle McAlpine, from the Whitsunday Christian College in Cannonvale, said she thought the show was "good".
"I like how the girl was dressed in rainbow clothes," she said.
Chris Patrick, of the Proserpine Entertainment Centre, was at the Hippo Hippo show and said the show was "brilliant".
"They loved it. It was a great interactive performance," he said. "Everyone came out of here with a smile on their face. Teachers and the kids."
