Housos deliver laughs in Proserpine
TRUE to their promise the Housos and Fat Pizza crews got down to some serious bogan hunting in Proserpine on Friday night.
Tania Galea said she had been a long time fan of the hugely popular television shows and was excited to see the cast in the flesh.
"We had front row seats but were not sure what to expect," she said.
Tania and her husband Dave didn't have to wait long to find out.
Dave was called up onto the Proserpine Entertainment Centre stage to take part in an ethnic versus Aussie dance contest.
Dave is part Maltese and strutted his stuff for team ethnic but Tania said he was outnumbered by Aussies in the crowd and unfortunately he didn't win.
It didn't matter though.
"Most people were there for a good laugh and there was laughter all night, we had a great time," Tania said.
The bogan hunting was like shooting fish in a barrel.
"They found some good bogans, they didn't have to look very hard," she joked.
Writer and creator of the television shows, Paul Fenech, said in the lead-up to the show in Proserpine, the regional performances offered a chance for regular Housos and Fat Pizza fans to have a great night out.
They were all about giving back to the fans, he said.
Tania said the television comedy stars were really friendly and they hung out after the show to chat and take photos. "You felt like you knew them personally, that's how they make you feel," she said.
