HSV's anniversary range celebrates 30 years of performance

POWER PLAYERS: 30 Years editions of Maloo, ClubSport, Senator and GTS bring power gains, revised suspensions and fresh styling
POWER PLAYERS: 30 Years editions of Maloo, ClubSport, Senator and GTS bring power gains, revised suspensions and fresh styling

HSV'S "30 Years" anniversary range comes with more power and torque, revised suspension and fresh styling across the range of performance vehicles.

All are based on HSV's GEN-F2 supercharged line-up, and will be part of the last MY17 models built off the locally-manufactured "Zeta" platform.

Available will be the Maloo R8 LSA manual ($79,990), ClubSport R8 LSA manual ($82,990), ClubSport R8 Tourer LSA auto ($88,990), Senator Signature with auto or manual ($95,990) and GTS manual ($98,990).

They are powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged LSA Gen IV V8 engine good for 410kW and 691Nm (up 10kW and 20Nm over 2016 models), except the GTS which retains its even more bonkers 430kW/740Nm version of the same motor.

Torque vectoring (to reduce understeer) will be standard across the HSV 30 Years range; previously it was only offered on the range-topping GTS.

Didn't think your HSV sounded fruity enough before? The 30 Years cars have modifications to their bi-modal exhaust systems, promising an even more aggressive bark than before.

Expect special edition styling too, with matte black accents for the wheels on the GTS and three R8 LSA models, while HSV's 20-inch SV Rapier forged alloys are standard on the Senator Signature.

All can be optioned with wider 20-inch SV Rimfire wheels ($995-$2495), the price including fender extensions.

And for you special edition fans, the five models in the 30 Years range score anniversary content such as 30 Years floor mats, fender badges, sill plates (except the Maloo), rear window sticker and unique engine build plates.

The GTS scores a AP Racing six-piston caliper brakes package, but can be optioned for $3495 on the other 30 Years HSVs.

Mirroring the MY17 Holden Commodore colour palette, three new hues are available for the 30 Years HSVs: Spitfire Green, Son of a Gun Grey and Light My Fire Orange.
