Hundreds of brides at expo
IT WASN’T such a nice day for a white wedding on Sunday but many a bride-to-be didn’t let a bit of rain stop them from getting to the Grand Wedding Expo.
About 350 people came through the doors at the Coral Sea Resort to meet with suppliers and get inspiration for their big wedding day.
Some ladies made a day of it and brought along their mothers and girlfriends to get as much done as possible at the one-stop-shop for weddings. All sorts of wedding suppliers were available on the day including celebrants, hair and make-up artists, florists, djs and even babysitters.
Event organiser Sam Ford said she was pleased people weren’t deterred by the rain.
"We had more numbers than last year and all the exhibitors had a really good response," she said.
"It was great to see people coming along from places like Bowen and Mackay. It is a day for them to come and meet suppliers and it is a great opportunity for everyone to do everything at the one place."
Wedding gowns in different shapes and designs from Bridal Palace in Townsville were showcased by local models to close the expo and give everyone a chance to see the piece de resistance of every wedding.
