Ideas shaping up for master plan

THERE is still time to add any last-minute thoughts to the Proserpine Master Plan.

Public consultations wrap up on February 28, with submissions accepted on the council's website or at the pop-up shop at 55 Main St.

The pop-up shop is equipped with maps of Proserpine, which are printed and hung on the wall so residents can even draw out their town vision on paper.

The council also sought ideas from Year 12 Proserpine State High School students last week.

Strategic planning manager Kylie Drysdale said the council received 40submissions from the group, with students demonstrating strong enthusiasm.

Engagement and marketing co-ordinator Joanne Hennessy said the consultation process had been a success.

"We will be looking at all the responses and measure all the information we received - we had many different types of ideas and a lot of interest,” she said.

Time is also running out to have a say on the council's Economic Development Strategy 2017-21, with submissions also closing on February 28.
