Indoor is ideal for summer sport

INDOOR SPORTS: Have you ever dreamed of playing in a world cup? or showcasing your sporting prowess to your colleagues?

The Mackay Indoor Sports Arena is set to launch into new seasons and they are calling locals to get in and give indoor sport a go.

The Mackay facility hosts social competitions in cricket, netball, soccer and volleyball with the new summer season providing a fun way to stay fit across the warmer months.

Manager Kushla Ireland urged people to check out the Indoor Sports Arena to find a sport and then come down to get involved.

She said the arena offers mixed, women's and men's competitions in each sport.

"We have just started a new season and you can join any time,” Ireland said.

"Bring a team or just bring yourself and we will find you a team.”

Ireland said the competitions run on weeknights with the opportunity for players to step into Premier Leagues if the want to test themselves in a more serious standard of contest.

The arena also hosts a number of junior sports with a sign on day held yesterday for soccer and netball competitions while extra numbers are being sought for a junior cricket bash which started this week.

Ireland said further information for all competitions is available on the arena's website.

World Cup goes indoor
