Issac council officially sworn in

Mayor Anne Baker and eight Councillors were sworn in representing the region's eight divisions for a term of four years.

Mayor Baker along with r, Division 3 Councillor Gina Lacey and Division 7 Councillor Jane Pickels were re-elected unopposed.

One newly elected member took her place on Council; Cr Lynette Jones representing Clermont in Division 6.

Councillor Geoff Bethel was unanimously appointed Deputy Mayor, bringing a wealth of local government experience to the role.

Mayor Baker said it was a significant show of confidence from the community to be re-elected as Mayor along with a largely unchanged Council.

"It's humbling and pleasing to see the community's faith in Council's current leadership," she said.

"We are excited to start work straight away in building a stronger region and delivering positive outcomes for our people."
