It's on! Bowen Show will thrill

THE 134th Bowen Show has let nothing get in its way this year, not even a category four cyclone.

"Yes! The show will go on!” is the message from organisers.

There will be no poultry competition but there will be a display and all horse events have been cancelled but other than that, things will return as normal.

Show secretary/treasurer Bonnie Kohlhase said despite the Bowen Showgrounds suffering cyclone damage, it was set to be a big year.

"We'll still have our cattle judging as well as our crafts, arts and baking which will all be on in the pavilion,” Ms Kohlhase said.

Dave, the reptile man, is back. So too is the petting farm along with their famous miniature pig races.

"It's really funny, they're hilarious. If you haven't watched a race do yourself a favour and take the kids,” Ms Kohlhase said.

Two new main ring acts have been booked for this year's show, Walter Whip and the Flames and trick rider Mikayla Jade.

Back by popular demand are the monster trucks, demolition derby and of course, bigger and better than ever, the fireworks.

The regular pavilion favourites will return, not to mention the rides and showbags.

Family passes are only available through pre-purchase at Cassandras.
