AIRLIE Beach, are you ready to rumble?

The annual fight night will return on Saturday, taking to the Whitsunday Sportspark's netball courts for an outdoor spectacle.

It will be the first time in Airlie Fight Night history the event will take place under the stars - but that will only add to the event, according to organiser Luke Anderson.

"It's going to be bigger than any one we've had before," he said.

"This year it's outside so it will be a lot nicer and cooler.

"Come along and see something amazing that doesn't come to Airlie often."

Airlie Fight Night IV has an action-packed 12-fight card, headlined by Whitsunday Martial Arts coach Anton Zafir, who will take on Jamie Kearines.

A host of other WMA fighters will also step into the ring, while the night signals the end of the Fight Night Experience for five local competitors.

Cruise Whitsundays chief executive officer Nick Hortle said the company, one of the main sponsors of Airlie Fight Night IV, was eager to take the opportunity to get involved in the popular event.

"The way this event has been managed so that it is family friendly is very impressive, and we want to support these kinds of events which benefit our community," he said.

"This is also a prime example of the kind of event that attracts significant numbers of both competitors and spectators from outside the region, seeing our local tourism industry surge over the weekend of the event.

"We are looking forward to working closely with the event organisers to ensure this event is even more successful than the previous fight nights, which will see our region benefit."
