Jealousy sparks DV outburst
WHEN jealousy clouded her thinking, a Cannonvale woman became violent, breaking the domestic violence protection order made against her in December last year.
On Monday, the court heard how on May 17 at 9am, Whitsunday police were called to attend a Cannonvale address after a receiving a call from a man saying, "I need help, my partner is going off."
The man told police how at work that day he asked his partner if he could borrow an extension lead before she said "you can't work for her any more" and left for home.
The man followed her home to speak about what she had said. They had a short conversation about him working with other women. The man told police his partner was jealous of him working with women.
The woman became agitated, ran towards her partner and kicked him in the right shin before he tried to leave. The woman then grabbed his collar with such force it left a tear and ripped off a button. It was alleged she then slapped him on the chest about three times.
The woman was sentenced to one month imprisonment wholly suspended for six months.
