Junior golf off to a great start
THERE was a great turn up at the junior golf sign on day last Sunday, despite the rain.
Twelve boys and five girls registered, with many family members and the committee braving the weather to support the juniors.
The 2014 junior golfing program was discussed, and it was decided that, along with coaching, the most important thing for the juniors was that they get out on the course and have some fun, keeping the experience as enjoyable as possible for all involved.
The committee and club professional, Kane Nusteling, will attempt to implement a program that will benefit all juniors, including coaching sessions for beginners and intermediate players, plus regular opportunities for juniors of all levels to play some holes.
The committee are looking to set aside regular Sunday mornings for kids to play with their parents and other club members, followed by sausage sizzles and presentations.
A junior committee will also be formed, to help ensure everyone can make the most of this exciting new program. The actual start date of the program will depend on the weather.
Juniors can still sign-up to be part of the program, parents should contact the club for more information on 4945 1337.
