Junior star picked for NQ team
PROSERPINE Brahmans under-13 player Bailey Martin-Hall has been selected to represent North Queensland after a strong effort for the Mackay representative team.
The NQ championships were held in Mackay over the Queens birthday long weekend and Bailey's team won all their games before being narrowly beaten by Townsville City in the final.
After being selected for the Mackay team late last year Bailey has been travelling to Mackay to train most weekends.
He's joined by four of his under-13 team-mates from Proserpine, Liam Murphy, Kye O'Donnell, Nathan Barrett and Taylor Jones in the Mackay team.
Bailey was one of the stand-out performers for his team and was the only player from the Proserpine club chosen to represent NQ.
He will now travel to Townsville on Friday, June 22, for a four-day intensive training camp at James Cook University before flying to the Sunshine Coast for the Queensland championships on from June 27-July 1.
Bailey has played for the Brahmans for seven years and was selected in the NQ Schoolboys rugby league side along with Nathan Barrett last year.
In his last game for the Brahmans before his trip, Bailey helped guide his side to a 64-4 win over Moranbah where he added six tries and one goal.
He will look to take this great form into the state championships where a spot in the Queensland representative team will be on the line.
