Kane proves very able in Tottenham victory
ENGLISH Premier League champion Chelsea arrived to a heroes' welcome in Sydney before its sold-out match Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium tomorrow night.
The match will be Chelsea's first in Australia in 41 years, but the second against an EPL side in three days for Sydney FC.
The Sky Blues lost 1-0 to Tottenham in front of more than 73,000 fans on Saturday night, with boom striker Harry Kane delivering on the hype by scoring just before half-time.
The Spurs - looking like they were in holiday mode - had a stack of chances go begging, but Kane made no mistake when put in the clear by teammate Erik Lamela.
It took one touch before Kane fired a low drive past the outstretched hand of Ivan Necevski, playing his final game for the Sky Blues after a club record eight-year stint.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochinetto described Kane as one of the best players in the EPL.
"We created many chances but only Harry Kane can score," he said.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho promised to put his best team on the field for tomorrow night's game.
