Whitsunday Kyokushin Karate hosted their 2012 junior karate camp at Camp Kanga last weekend with 57 students heading along to the two-day camp.
Students and instructors travelled from the Whitsunday and Mackay regions for the annual event which was enjoyed by everyone involved.
Head instructor Belinda Woodham was thrilled with the success of the camp and said her Whitsunday students had taken a lot away from the exercise.
"Students enjoyed the weekend training sessions and the chance to make new friends. They have come away from the camp all being inspired and now are conscientiously working toward their grading which will be held in November," she said.
"Annually we have a camp for the senior students in Yeppoon and a separate camp for the junior students at Camp Kanga, Proserpine. Each year the students have the opportunity to attend these weekend training camps and receive invaluable instruction from the numerous high ranking instructors attending including Shihan Trevor Field (Mackay) and Shihan Wayne Hinschen (Proserpine)."
All students were training hard this week ahead of their upcoming gradings in November.
