KC’s to bring thunder on the mountain
KC'S BAR and Grill are calling on all buskers, musical professionals or hobbyists for a "Bobfest" night to honour the birthday of influential singer/song writer Bob Dylan this Sunday.
The bar will play host to 12 buskers/amateurs or professional artists to perform Dylan-esque songs live on stage from 7.30pm.
With many artists attempting to score gigs at KC's, owners Peter and Selena Chengody have decided to open up the floor (well, stage in this case) to give musicians a chance to showcase their talents.
The first 12 people to nominate on KC's Grill and Bar Facebook page via private message will go into a time slot to perform their favourite Dylan tunes.
Performers are welcomed as solo artists or in duos.
Each act will have 12 minutes to make an impression and a new act will fight it out every 15 minutes.
Performers are only required to bring their instruments to plug in to the P.A system with overnight instrument storing options available.
Registrations must include name, mobile number and level of experience as a performer.
Tipped to be the highlight will be a group rendition of the classic "Knocking on heaven's door" at the end of the night.
Competing musicians are in the running for two scrumptious dinners at KC's Bar and Grill.
The ultimate prize could be a gig at the bar and grill restaurant on Tuesday, May 26, if the performance dazzles the likes of management and staff.
And if kicking back to Bob Dylan is more your style, an audience quiz will really put your knowledge to the test.
Turn it into a dinner show with an early bird reef and beef dinner for two adults at $74 available to those who get in before 7.40pm.
A special "Bobfest" burger will be added to the menu that night with American mustard, of course.
Come down on Sunday and celebrate the 74th birthday of a man whose music and lyrics changed the world of music forever.
