Key players return to game in Broncos and Titans trial match

SCOTT Prince and David Stagg will make their eagerly-awaited returns to the Broncos for the trial against the Gold Coast this Saturday night at Redcliffe's Dolphin Oval.

Both were named on the bench, with Prince having to prove his form to edge out halves incumbents Peter Wallace and Corey Norman.

Captain Sam Thaiday is still recovering from shoulder surgery but is a possibility to play in the Broncos' final trial in New Zealand next week.

The Titans' front-row stocks suffered a blow on Monday with the news that Matt White (knee) will miss the remainder of the season.

But coach John Cartwright said prop Ryan James is ready to impress against Brisbane after a strong showing for the Indigenous All Stars.

Meanwhile, Cowboys coach Neil Henry said star five-eighth Johnathan Thurston (hand) had been given the all-clear to line up against the Dragons on Saturday in Cairns.

And Warriors prop Sione Lousi will be sidelined for six months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Saturday's trial against the Titans.
