Killer crocodile search canned
POLICE have ended the search for a crocodile believed to have killed Cindy Waldron at Thornton Beach on Sunday evening.
Officers confirmed yesterday that the stomach contents of a 2.5-metre croc trapped in Coopers Creek this week were "unidentifiable".
Police said it was unlikely the trapped crocodile was responsible for the killing.
Ms Waldron, 46, was swimming at the north Queensland beach with friend Leeann Mitchell when she was dragged under by the reptile.
No trace of the photographer from Lithgow, near the Blue Mountains, has been found.
The Queensland Government will put $5.8 million into crocodile management as a result of the tragedy.
