Kyrgios claims third title of the year by winning Japan Open

TENNIS: Nick Kyrgios has claimed his third ATP title of the year, winning a three-set battle with Belgian David Goffin in the final of the Japan Open.

The Australian 22-year-old scored a 4-6 6-3 7-5 victory in a high-quality match in Tokyo.

Kyrgios squandered several chances in the first set but enjoyed a break in each of the final two sets to secure the win.

Sixth seed Kyrgios, who had earlier overpowered French second seed Gael Monfils in their semi-final 6-4 6-4, has also claimed titles in Atlanta (in August) and Marseille (in February) this year.
