Lanning on top of the cricket world
OUTSTANDING performances in the three-game ODI series against England have propelled Southern Stars captain Meg Lanning and all-rounder Ellyse Perry up the world rankings.
Lanning, named Wisden's inagural women's cricketer of the year in 2014, made 195 runs at 65, including a century in the second game.
That saw her reclaim the No.1 batting ranking by leapfrogging Ashes rivals Sarah Taylor and Charlotte Edwards.
Perry, the player of the series after making 193 runs and taking three wickets, jumped to eighth on the batting rankings and fifth among the bowlers.
