Lions to welcome top Roo with tag

THE Brisbane Lions aren't planning to go easy on North Melbourne skipper Andrew Swallow (pictured) in his first game back since last July.

The 26-year-old makes his return from an achilles injury suffered in round 18 last year when he leads his side out against the Lions at Etihad Stadium tomorrow.

Brisbane coach Justin Leppitsch forecast he may tag the midfielder from the outset.

"Sometimes, first game back, you're at your freshest," he said. "It's often as the grind hits you from a long-term injury (a player may struggle).

"We've got to treat it that he's going to play the same way as he did when he left the game ... which is a pretty high standard."

Leppitsch said he would also be wary of fellow Roos' on-ballers Jack Ziebell, Ben Cunnington, Nick Dal Santo and Brent Harvey.

While Nick Robertson has been dropped and Matt Maguire suspended, Sam Mayes is also out for the Lions after being left concussed after a training accident. Claye Beams comes in for his first game since his knee reconstruction, along with Jordan Lisle and Mitch Golby.
