Little stars shine bright

WHITSUNDAY Christian College students proved themselves a talented lot at the weekend, with their musical performance, Little Stars, leaving the crowd in stitches.

Director Katherine Weijenberg said she was "really proud" of the final result.

"(The audience) obviously enjoyed the night, and I had lots of really positive comments afterwards saying they really enjoyed it," she said.

"I had lots of positive comments about one of the girls, Eve (McCann).

"There were lots of funny auditions, and she had about four.

"She was just hilarious."

Mrs Weijenberg said the production had seen quite a few kids spread their dramatic wings, with a few looking to pursue a career in the craft.

"A couple of kids are actually looking into next year, when they finish Year 12, studying acting at uni," she said.

With everything coming together smoothly on the big day, Mrs Weijenberg said the kids had really stepped up.

"All the things that we worked on and we talked about improving they took 10 million times more and they really went for it," she said.

Students from Prep to Year 12 strutted their stuff on stage, helping to build the school community.

"It was so lovely to see the younger girls look up to the older girls, and they were helping them with their make-up and creating role models within the school," Mrs Weijenberg said.

"It was just really nice."
