Local store’s securing community funds
TELSTRA Whitsunday hopes to be donating $2500 to Cannonvale State School as part of their Community Engagement Program - and they need your help.
The store has already donated $500 and a further $1000 has currently been raised through in store donations.
The current program means any family member or supporter of CSS who connects to an eligible Telstra nbn Bundle over 24 months with Telstra Whitsunday, and mentions their association with the school, gets $25 for the school, which Telstra Whitsunday donates.
Operations manager Ryan Langford said their target was for at least $2000 to be raised in-store.
"The program is something we're doing ourselves - as a local business it's something we've now started," he said.
"We're going to be targeting schools, sporting organisations, kids and other organisations. We've done it ourselves to try and get more involved and try and help out those that need funds."
The money will fund a new LED sign for the school after their previous one suffered storm damage. Mr Langford said they would be donating the full $2500 whether they hit their target or not.
The initiative will run in store until July 29.
