Local teacher stars on Sunrise
SURROUNDED by dozens of her students, Whitsunday Christian College teacher Jennifer Knight starred on Sunrise this morning.
Featuring in the program's 'Story of My Life' segment, Ms Knight told the story of her 50 years in the industry.
The tension was palpable as the count down to the live cross began, with the students barely able to contain their excitement.
Ms Knight chatted with Sunrise journalist Edwina Bartholomew, relating the story of her first class back in 1965.
Ms Knight explained she had 45 students at that time, describing them as "little sponges" eager for knowledge.
A Bowen resident, Ms Knight makes the hour long trip south each morning to teach her students.
