Long Island open again

CLUB Croc Long Island will officially re-open its doors tomorrow after being closed for two months.

The resort closed in February to make some necessary repairs after Cyclone Yasi and has refurbished some parts. The restaurant was gutted and re-fitted with new furniture, flooring and bar area, reception was upgraded and a new pontoon has been installed to welcome guests.

Club Croc Airlie Beach general manager Nathan Pattison said the refurbishment had modernised the resort.

“It has brought it into 2011,” he said.

Mr Pattison said the resort had been booked exclusively for guests from motocross group Nitro Circus this week and would be open to the public on Friday. He said bookings for Easter were looking good. The 25 staff will resume work at the island for its opening.
