Longoria’s invite
CANNONVALE'S Specsavers partner Laura Goodridge couldn't believe it when she saw Hollywood actress Eva Longoria holding a sign that read "Cannonvale".
But why not? We do live in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Ms Goodridge soon learnt the award-winning actress and philanthropist was in Australia to celebrate the 2015 Specsavers' Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, taking on the role of ambassador and star judge.
The Specsavers' Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, now in its fifth year, is a nationwide hunt for Australia's most stylish and confident spectacle wearer - and that person could well live in the Whitsundays.
"We are really excited to welcome Eva to the Specsavers family and are encouraging Cannonvale residents to get involved as we know our locals have great spec style," Ms Goodridge said.
Eva says she became a spectacle wearer herself four years ago.
"Wearing glasses is all about having fun and embracing your style.
"Whether I'm on set filming, studying or at a special event, accessorising my look with glasses gives me confidence and allows me to make the ultimate style statement," she said.
The winner of the competition will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles for two to meet Eva.
