Love is in the Whitsundays

IT'S the most loved up day of the year and it looks like those in the Whitsundays are really showing off their romantic side this Valentine's Day.

Spreading the love in true Whitsunday style was Ocean Rafting, posting a video to Facebook of two of their boats racing through the water to create a heart shape at Whitehaven Beach.

Sales captain at Ocean Rafting, Nathan Fleming said "we wanted to capture something special and what better way to capture Whitehaven and Hill Inlet".

Since being posted on Facebook this morning, the video has racked up more than 37,000 views in just seven hours.

Local restaurants are preparing for what would be one of their most popular nights of the year.

One of Airlie's newest restaurants, La Marina at Port of Airlie has certainly sold their service with bookings already full for this evening.

Couples dining at the restaurant can expect live entertainment, a drink on arrival, a three course meal, beautiful table settings and a stunning view just to add to the romance.

Clinking glasses will be a common sound heard up and down Airlie Beach main street with restaurants preparing for an influx of guests.

La Tabella on the esplanade is expected to be a busy place to dine tonight with 60 bookings already placed and more expected to come.

With a setting predominately set for couples, guests can enjoy a set menu or an a la carte menu.

So, get the Lionel Richie CD ready, get dressed in your finest attire and get ready to woo your loved one this Valentine's Day.
