Luke Keary does an Origin backflip

QUEENSLAND-born Luke Keary says he is now prepared to pull on the Blues shirt for NSW if needed.

Keary, who moved to the southern state with his parents aged 10, trained in a Maroons camp in 2012 and argued against eligibility rules which changed in that year deeming him a future NSW player.

The Sydney Roosters five-eighth, who has had a blistering start to the NRL season, has now changed his mind, saying he was on board with what Laurie Daley's team was trying to achieve.

"I'm definitely in their boat if they ever need me," Keary said.

"I think I went in and met a few of the boys.

"I learnt what they're all about, I learnt what the team is trying to become and jumped on board straight away."

Keary was an early leader in the Dally M race in the opening month, and his combination with former NSW halfback Mitchell Pearce has been one of the best in the competition.

But the man himself is still not sure he is the man to take the No.6 jersey.

"I think it's pretty premature to talk at the moment," Keary said.

"I just think you've got to play consistent football for two or three seasons before you can start putting your hand up for anything like that."
