Main street
Main street
Pro-Build have consistently blamed the delays on the weather, yet today (Wednesday) it's raining, there's a strong wind warning due to the ex-cyclone off the coast, and as I look out my window over the main street, there they are...working.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day, but only two of the worksites were active. One had three workers standing around leaning on shovels.
As I stared at them from across the street, one of the workers shrugged and shouted at me "what?!". There's a rain gauge installed in a prominent spot on a street sign out the front of the site office on Waterson Way.
What good is a rain gauge except to tell you how much it has rained, not how much it will rain?
So, at least they're working... but there's an excavator driving around on a pile of freshly delivered dirt on the hill above the roundabout at the Cannonvale end of the street.
Is this safe? Why did work cease for a few weeks over Christmas/New Year (when it was dry)? To save money?
After a massive budget blowout, do these guys think we are idiots?
