Man, 20, charged over alleged kidnapping girl, 9

A MAN will face court today, charged after allegedly kidnapping a nine-year-old girl from Casino this week.

Police said just before 6pm on Monday, two friends were playing in the front garden of a home in Casino.

Police will allege a 20-year-old man grabbed one of the girls, aged nine, and rode with her on his motorised scooter to a nearby park in Sheppard Street.

He allegedly made an indecent proposition to her.

She declined and ran home, informing her mother of the incident.

Police were called with Casino Detectives investigating the incident.

At 4.40pm yesterday, police arrested a 20-year-old man in Casino.

He was charged with detain for advantage, incite victim under 10 years to indecent act and common assault.

He was refused bail to appear before Casino Local Court today.
