Man arrested after allegedly robbing, assaulting teenager

POLICE have charged a man following investigations into an incident at Morayfield in which a teenager was allegedly robbed and assaulted.

It will be alleged around 1.30pm on Tuesday, June 23, the teenage boy was walking at William Berry Drive when he was approached by a man who allegedly demanded his name before grabbing him by the throat and punching him in the face.

The man has then allegedly taken the boy's skateboard.

Witnesses have given chase, recovering the skateboard and also provided assistance to the boy.

The 15-year-old Morayfield boy received treatment at the Caboolture Hospital.

A 17-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with robbery with violence and grievous bodily harm. He is expected to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on this and other unrelated matters today.
