Boat driver nabbed almost five times over the limit

ABOUT 7.30pm last night, police received information regarding the alleged erratic manner which a vessel was being driven around the Abel Point Marina.

Police responded and located a 26-year-old man Airlie Beach resident operating the vessel in question.

After questioning he was returned to the Whitsunday Police station and was found to have a reading of 0.230%, police said.

The manwas charged with being under the influence of liquor while driving a vessel.  

He will appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on December 7 to have the matter heard.
