Two stabbed, one charged after Bundaberg fights

TWO separate but related incidents in Bundaberg yesterday resulted in two men with alleged stab wounds being hospitalised and one man being charged with unlawful wounding.

In the first incident - which occurred in Central Avenue around 4.30pm - police will allege a dispute between two men quickly escalated into a physical fight during which time one man sustained stab wounds to his leg and shoulder.

The man, a 29-year-old from Bundaberg, fled the scene in his vehicle before contacting family who transported him to Bundaberg Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

It will be alleged that family members of the 29-year-old attended a Maryborough Street address around 8.40pm to speak to a man.

The situation escalated with one of the family members, a 30-year-old man from Avoca, sustaining a laceration to his arm.

The man was also transported to the Bundaberg Hospital for treatment to a non-life threatening injury.

Police, responding to Triple Zero calls, arrested a 23-year-old Bundaberg man at the scene.

He is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today charged with two counts of unlawful wounding.
