Body found north of Rockhampton

POLICE have found a body, believed to be that of 17-year-old Rhian Elsmore, at a property north of Rockhampton this afternoon.

A search of a Canoona property was conducted by police, who were accompanied by the man charged with Rhian's murder.

Levi Michael Hayes was remanded in custody in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning.

He is due to reappear in court again on May 7.

Rhian's family had not heard from her in several weeks and had asked police on Friday to help find her.
