
Man faces court today over alleged bashing death of woman
HOMICIDE detectives are investigating the alleged bashing death of a woman in Sydney.
Police and emergency services personnel found the 39-year-old dead in a home in Cardigan Road, Greenacre, yesterday.
A 42-year-old man was also found at the scene.
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he assisted officers with inquiries and subsequently arrested.
The man will today face the Bankstown Local Court on assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault charges.
"A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a woman was found deceased in Greenacre yesterday," NSW Police media said.
The relationship between the man and woman is unclear.
Alleged male violence is believed to have claimed the lives of 42 Australian women in 2016. - ARM Newsdesk
