Man in court over alleged Seaforth stabbing
UPDATE: A MAN has fronted Mackay Magistrates Court this afternoon accused over an alleged stabbing at Seaforth.
Damian Arthur Woollam is charged with malicious act with intent over the incident at a caravan park early this morning.
Defence solicitor Sean Gibbs, of Fisher Dore Lawyers, asked for the case to be adjourned briefly for a possible bail application.
Mr Gibbs said enquiries had to be made in relation to a bail address.
The case will be mentioned again tomorrow morning.
UPDATE: A MAN has been charged by police following an alleged stabbing in Seaforth in the early hours of this morning.
A police spokesman said a 45-year-old man from Seaforth had been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm after the alleged altercation involving a 48-year-old man from Caloundra.
The man is due to face the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
EARLIER: A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital with multiple stab wounds to his upper body after an incident north of Mackay.
The 48-year-old man suffered serious wounds to his head, chest and back after an alleged assault with a knife at a Seaforth caravan park about 3.25am.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics reported the man was in a serious but stable condition when he was transported to Mackay Base Hospital from the Palm Ave property.
A Mackay Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman confirmed the 48 year old was admitted to the hospital and remains in a stable condition.
A Redcliffe man, 45, is assisting police with investigations.
