Man injured after boating incident in Airlie Beach

A 25-YEAR-OLD man is recovering in Mackay Base Hospital after being thrown from a boat near the Port of Airlie in the Whitsundays.

A Whitsunday Water Police spokesman said the recreational boat struck a navigation marker about 10pm last night.

The spokesman said the man was transported with abdominal and leg injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
