Man watches in horror as bull tramples, kills father

A MAN watched in horror as his elderly father was trampled to death by a bull near Rathdowney.

Des Johnson, 73, and his son Graham were immunising cattle on a property at Barney View on Wednesday when the incident happened.

Paramedics were called but were unable to save Mr Johnson Sr.

Science Rim Councillor Rick Stanfield said it was a tragic accident.

"Working with animals can be dangerous," he said.

"Bulls, when they are entering the breeding season, are pretty full of themselves. They can march straight through you."
