Man stabbed in face during altercation
ONE man is in hospital and another is in police custody after a stabbing in Airlie Beach in the early hours of this morning.
Police will allege that at around 2.15am a fight broke out between a 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old man outside a takeaway store on Shute Harbour Rd, Airlie Beach.
The 32-year-old Cannonvale man entered the takeaway store where he grabbed a knife and stabbed the 35-year-old Fijian National in the face.
The victim suffered a significant laceration to the face, being treated at the scene before being taken to Proserpine Hospital.
The 32-year-old has been charged with unlawful wounding, enter premises to commit an indictable offence and going armed to cause fear.
The man has been remanded in police custody and will appear before the Proserpine Magistrates Court tomorrow.
